One night, the soviet police grab her mother, her and her whole family while her father is being deported. She fights to survive in cruel standards with 300 g of bread every day and water every 3 days. She fights, and love manages to keep her alive but will love be enough for her family to survive?
I would recommend this book to ages 12-16. It is very emotional and sad and it makes me think about how lucky I am. That I did not live in that time and also how nobody tried to stand up for the people taken away. Or if they did they would have gotten killed. Itis based on a real situation with feelings and emotions from real people who have survived.
