My New Year’s Resolutions♥︎

Hello Bookworms, can you BELIEVE it’s 2021! I know I sure can’t, if you ask me, it’s still March 2020 day 142894343 in quarantine. It seems like I’m living in an alternate universe, where time still moves on, the days pass, and I sure am getting older, but my past self is sitting at home back in March. Hopefully, the start of the new year can get me out of this slump, and for personal reasons, 2021 is sure to be a wild ride. As a High School Senior, it ~delights~ me to say that I will be graduating in June and going OFF to University in the Fall. Once again, this DOESN’T FEEL REAL! Although I understand and comprehend the fact that I’m now growing up, my mind is still functioning as a twelve-year-old. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. Twelve-year-olds do it best anyway.

This post will consist of personal goals and resolutions, as well as a few bookish and random ones! What are your resolutions for the new year?

My Resolutions

I strongly believe that 99.99999% of the time resolutions mean absolutely NOTHING! These are all goals that I made many months ago, but as this is tradition, I want to share them. Never feel pressured or insecure about your goals or what you have or haven’t accomplished. Everyone’s timeline is immensely diverse; we are all living different lives no matter how similar they might seem.

My Bookish Resolutions

And of course…. this is a bookish blog after all! I hope that 2021 will be another fantastic year of reading, as I discovered DOZENS of authors and novels in 2020.

  1. Best of luck for both your reading and non-reading goals!!!! One of my goals this year is also to get 9 hours sleep. Every since online class started, I have completely fell of the rocker, now days I don’t even go to bed before 3a.m.
😂😂 I really need to fix my sleep schedule!!!!!!

  3. These are all wonderful goals, Erin! Good luck with uni, I’m sure you will get along wonderfully 🥰 I’d love to be able achieve some of those things as well, especially get more sleep and read more classics and nonfiction!

  4. Good luck with your goals! I used to be a pescetarian but stopped once the pandemic started. I was just so stressed and it was easier to eat meat. But once life gets back to normal I want to commit to going back!

I only read classics when I have to for school, and I don’t usually enjoy them. However, I just finished Oliver Twist and it was actually relatively painless. So I guess I would recommend that haha!

    1. That makes sense!! My family has always eaten healthy and I’ve never had pork or ham before either so it was a natural transition. Thank you so much for the lovely comment Emily, and I do believe I’ve read Oliver Twist but I don’t remember any of it so maybe I should pick it up again🤍

    1. hahha i’ve always been one to sleep long, I look like a zombie when i get even seven hours😭 i’m honestly stressing so much with my reading this year because I’ve made the dumbest goal ever to just read a lot of YA books that I don’t really have any interest in, but once i go to uni i won’t have time to rlly check them out(you know?) like some series’ that a lot of ppl love and I just want to see if i’ll like it even tho i don’t even care hahah🙁❤️

  9. Congrats on going to university in the fall, that’s so exciting! I feel like my brain was functioning like a 12 year old until a couple years ago even though I graduated two years ago…so no sweat on that front. I’m at a solid 19 right now probably. 😄 Good luck on your resolutions this year!

  10. Good luck on these goals and starting off uni! 🙂 I also want to read more nonfiction and am already tackling the less social media thing. My new phone keeps track off all the time I spend on my phone and it has really shocked me into action haha. Now I try to spend more time being creative, which is way more fulfilling anyways.

    1. thank you so much Nikki🌿. My phone does that as well and so far it’s not looking so great. With online school I’m on my phone and laptop more than I would like to be, so I really need to make a conscious effort to stay off🙁. Thanks for the lovely comment, have a wonderful year💙
