My favourite poems in Milk And Honey By: Rupi Kaur

Hey guys! First off, I would like to say that I absolutely LOVE this poet and this book. This is something every young woman should read, and we can all relate to and learn something from each poem. Overall, what I took from this book, is that people will only find happiness and love when they love themselves and are truly happy with who they are inside.

-“She was a rose,

in the hands of those

who had no intention

of keeping her

“perhaps the saddest of all

are those who live waiting

for someone they’re not

sure exists

If I could, I would include every single poem in this blog. This book has opened new doors for me, and made me look at some things in a different way. Every girl can relate to being heartbroken, wanting to give up sometimes, and feeling useless, but in the end we are all beautiful. And we are definitely WORTH IT.

Dorothy Must Die By: Danielle Paige

Amy Gumm, a high school student who lives in Kansas is bullied at school and has an alcoholic mother. After a fight with her mother, a tornado sweeps her up, and takes her into the Land Of Oz. Throughout the book she comes across many adventures and meets many new people. But as Amy soons figures out, Oz is not the same as it was in the stories and will her adventure end in success or pain?

First of all, this book was very captivating, and one of the best books I ever read. The writing was amazing; I have absolutley no words for this book. I would reccomend it to 13-15 year olds, and it does not necessarly have to be fans of the Wizard of Oz. The genre of this book is Fantasy, and it contains magic, fairytales, fiction, romance, and young adult. I asure you, that once you start reading, you will not be able to stop. This story kept me guessing, and I never quite knew what was going to happen next. The characters were described in detail, and I could relate to the characters and laugh and cry with them.

Danielle Paige is a young adult literature writer, and before that she worked in the television industry where she received a Writers Guild of America Award and was nominated for several Daytime Emmys. She is a graduate form Columbia University, and the author of Dorothy Must Die, and its digital prequels novellas. She currently lives in New York City.
